About Thurrock Play Network
Thurrock Play Network is an organisation that has non-profit making charitable status since 1999. We have a strong belief in the importance of play opportunities in the community and believe that play is for everyone, playing an important part in social, emotional and physical well-being. Besides outdoor play, encouraging creativity and recycling is a key element of what we do, sharing and celebrating some of our member’s wonderful skills.
TPN is dependent on grants and donations from individuals and local companies for us to achieve the level of support to our communities.
We work in partnership with a large number of individuals, voluntary and statutory groups, whether just sharing or providing resources or running sessions for them.
Over the years we have received funding to employ play rangers to work out in the parks, supported parents and children in schools with their projects, and organised community play events; our national playday in august being the largest, providing free activities.
TPN is managed by a group of trustees and committee members who share their skills, working hard to ensure that we are sustainable. In addition, we enjoy working with volunteers to work alongside our paid members of staff to help in the many jobs that need doing.
